Sara Leilah is a singer song-writer from Sunderland in the North-East of England. She also plays the keyboard, guitar and ukulele. Her music is a mixture of Acoustic, Folk, Pop. She started her musical journey after attending classes run by Laura Brewis YMP (Young Musicians Project) which is based in Sunderland. With their teaching and mentors they led her to where she is today. Sara has said that she simply wouldn't be doing this if it hadn't been for their tremendous guidance and support for which she'll forever be grateful for.
She has had the pleasure to work alongside Marty Longstaff (The Lake Poets), Beccy Young (This Little Bird) and Natasha Haws, all brilliant musicians and mentors. She has played at The Sage, The Customs House, The Bunker, The Independent, the Fire Station in Sunderland, and also the NE Volume bar in Stockton. She has hope to collaborate with other local musicians in the near future, and to also get some more of her songs recorded in the studio.
Some interesting/fun facts about Sara. She enjoys indoor climbing, she also learnt to ride a unicycle at the age 16. She loves swimming in the cold North Sea and is a keen photographer. She had to celebrate her 18th Birthday at home alone as it was during 2020 Lockdown! She has had some of her own artwork in local exhibitions, and designed her own Music Logo and Cover for her debut single. She loves a good board game with friends and coffee is her go-to drink. She is also a full-time University Student. She loves being creative in her spare time, either with her music or with her art.
